Middle Connector Pathway Tunnel
In 2015, Westwood Curtis Construction completed a 2.4-mile paved pathway project that included construction of a precast concrete box culvert underpass beneath Highway 89, helping connect major pathway systems in Teton County.
Project highlights include:
Construction of a precast concrete box culvert underpass with wingwalls and lighting
Installation of associated drainage systems
Construction of soldier pile and gabion retaining walls
Pathway grading, paving, signage, and landscaping
Completion of a critical connection between the Snake River pathway system and the Highway 89 corridor
Upon completion, this project linked pathway networks on the west bank of the Snake River to the Highway 89 system, creating nearly 45 miles of continuous connected pathways throughout Teton County.
Phase 2 Pathway 22 East
In 2014, Westwood Curtis Construction was awarded the contract to construct sidewalk and multi-use pathway improvements along Highway 89 and Highway 22 in Jackson, Wyoming.
Project highlights include:
Construction of approximately 7,200 linear feet of sidewalk and paved multi-use pathway
Installation of 1,550 feet of 12-inch ductile iron water main completed in late 2014
Intersection reconstruction and full landscape restoration in 2015
Installation of 33 street lights, signage, and irrigation systems
Coordination of work adjacent to major highway corridors
This phased project required careful scheduling and coordination to complete infrastructure, roadway, and landscape elements while maintaining traffic flow and public access.
South Park Loop Highway 22 Pathways
Between the summer and fall of 2007, Westwood Curtis Construction built two multi-use pathways for Teton County along the South Park Loop corridor near Highway 22.
Project highlights include:
Construction of approximately 2,700 feet of pathway adjacent to State Highway 22
Installation of a keystone retaining wall
Creation of additional wetlands along Flat Creek
Construction of roughly 600 feet of pathway over existing wetlands
Coordination within one of Wyoming’s busiest roadway corridors
Completed in spring 2008, this project required careful planning to balance traffic, environmental considerations, and long-term public use.
Phase 2 N 89 Pathway
In 2011, Westwood Curtis Construction constructed a 7,500-foot paved pathway for Teton County within Grand Teton National Park and adjacent to the National Elk Refuge.
Project highlights include:
Installation of culverts ranging from 18” to 42” in diameter
Use of geogrid reinforcing mat, excavation, grading, and crushed gravel
Placement of asphalt pavement, signage, and guardrail
Construction of a 75-foot tunnel beneath Highway 89
Day and night construction shifts to minimize traffic impacts and reduce time within the public right-of-way
This project required precise coordination within a high-traffic corridor and sensitive environmental setting while maintaining access and safety throughout construction.
Pine Glades / Cache Street Improvements
Westwood Curtis Construction was contracted by the Town of Jackson in 2010 to improve utilities and roadway alignment along South Cache Street in support of the newly constructed Cache Tunnel beneath Snow King Resort.
Project highlights include:
Roadway realignment to improve safety and visual continuity near the tunnel entrance
Replacement of water main and storm sewer infrastructure
Installation of new asphalt roadway, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and brick pavers
Signage, guardrail installation, and site revegetation
This project required careful coordination within an active urban corridor while supporting long-term infrastructure improvements tied to a major tunnel project.
Apres Vous Road
Westwood Curtis Construction constructed a new primary access roadway connecting Highway 390 to Teton Village, Wyoming. The project included extensive underground utilities, roadway construction, and surface improvements supporting high traffic volumes and year-round access to a major resort area.
Project Highlights
Installation of underground utilities, including:
960 linear feet of 8” ductile iron water main
500 linear feet of 8” PVC sewer main
200 linear feet of reinforced concrete storm pipe
Vortechs stormwater treatment unit and culvert installation
Mass excavation and roadway construction, including:
10,100 cubic yards of excavation
Imported aggregate, asphalt paving, and utility conduit
Construction of snow melt systems, concrete flatwork, fencing, and surface restoration
Roadway provides direct access to Teton Mountain Resort’s tram
This project reflects Westwood Curtis Construction’s ability to deliver complex roadway and utility infrastructure in high-traffic, high-visibility environments.
