Middle Connector Pathway Tunnel

In 2015, Westwood Curtis Construction completed a 2.4-mile paved pathway project that included construction of a precast concrete box culvert underpass beneath Highway 89, helping connect major pathway systems in Teton County.

Project highlights include:

  • Construction of a precast concrete box culvert underpass with wingwalls and lighting

  • Installation of associated drainage systems

  • Construction of soldier pile and gabion retaining walls

  • Pathway grading, paving, signage, and landscaping

  • Completion of a critical connection between the Snake River pathway system and the Highway 89 corridor

Upon completion, this project linked pathway networks on the west bank of the Snake River to the Highway 89 system, creating nearly 45 miles of continuous connected pathways throughout Teton County.

Phase 2 Pathway 22 East

In 2014, Westwood Curtis Construction was awarded the contract to construct sidewalk and multi-use pathway improvements along Highway 89 and Highway 22 in Jackson, Wyoming.

  • Construction of approximately 7,200 linear feet of sidewalk and paved multi-use pathway

  • Installation of 1,550 feet of 12-inch ductile iron water main completed in late 2014

  • Intersection reconstruction and full landscape restoration in 2015

  • Installation of 33 street lights, signage, and irrigation systems

  • Coordination of work adjacent to major highway corridors

This phased project required careful scheduling and coordination to complete infrastructure, roadway, and landscape elements while maintaining traffic flow and public access.

South Park Loop Highway 22 Pathways

Between the summer and fall of 2007, Westwood Curtis Construction built two multi-use pathways for Teton County along the South Park Loop corridor near Highway 22.

Project highlights include:

  • Construction of approximately 2,700 feet of pathway adjacent to State Highway 22

  • Installation of a keystone retaining wall

  • Creation of additional wetlands along Flat Creek

  • Construction of roughly 600 feet of pathway over existing wetlands

  • Coordination within one of Wyoming’s busiest roadway corridors

Completed in spring 2008, this project required careful planning to balance traffic, environmental considerations, and long-term public use.

In 2011, Westwood Curtis Construction constructed a 7,500-foot paved pathway for Teton County within Grand Teton National Park and adjacent to the National Elk Refuge.

  • Installation of culverts ranging from 18” to 42” in diameter

  • Use of geogrid reinforcing mat, excavation, grading, and crushed gravel

  • Placement of asphalt pavement, signage, and guardrail

  • Construction of a 75-foot tunnel beneath Highway 89

  • Day and night construction shifts to minimize traffic impacts and reduce time within the public right-of-way

This project required precise coordination within a high-traffic corridor and sensitive environmental setting while maintaining access and safety throughout construction.

Apres Vous Road

Westwood Curtis Construction constructed a new primary access roadway connecting Highway 390 to Teton Village, Wyoming. The project included extensive underground utilities, roadway construction, and surface improvements supporting high traffic volumes and year-round access to a major resort area.

Project Highlights

  • Installation of underground utilities, including:

    • 960 linear feet of 8” ductile iron water main

    • 500 linear feet of 8” PVC sewer main

    • 200 linear feet of reinforced concrete storm pipe

    • Vortechs stormwater treatment unit and culvert installation

  • Mass excavation and roadway construction, including:

    • 10,100 cubic yards of excavation

    • Imported aggregate, asphalt paving, and utility conduit

  • Construction of snow melt systems, concrete flatwork, fencing, and surface restoration

  • Roadway provides direct access to Teton Mountain Resort’s tram
