MIDDLE CONNECTOR PATHWAY TUNNEL
Westwood Curtis Construction excavated and installed a 101-foot precast concrete tunnel beneath Highway 22 to safely route pathway traffic across one of Wyoming’s busiest transportation corridors. The project was completed during peak tourist season while maintaining two-way traffic throughout construction.
Project highlights include:
Excavation and installation of a 101-foot precast concrete pathway tunnel
Construction beneath Highway 22, the busiest non-interstate highway in Wyoming
Work performed during peak tourist season with continuous two-way traffic maintained
Coordination of mass excavation operations in a constrained roadway environment
Installation of storm drainage and dry utilities as part of the tunnel infrastructure
Careful traffic control and sequencing to minimize congestion and disruption
This project demonstrates Westwood Curtis’s ability to execute complex underground infrastructure work in high-traffic conditions while maintaining safety, access, and schedule integrity.
