PHASE 2 PATHWAY TUNNEL

Westwood Curtis Construction built a pedestrian pathway tunnel as part of the Phase 2 North Highway 89 Pathway project in Jackson, Wyoming. The tunnel crosses beneath four lanes of Highway 89 and was constructed to provide safe access to the National Museum of Wildlife Art adjacent to the National Elk Refuge.

Project highlights include:

  • Construction of a tunnel beneath four lanes of Highway 89

  • Day and night shift work to accelerate the schedule and reduce traffic impacts

  • Extensive excavation and dewatering operations

  • Installation of retaining walls and underdrain systems

  • Placement of geogrid mat and paving

  • Guardrail, fencing, and traffic delineation to support highway safety

This project demonstrates Westwood Curtis’s ability to execute complex tunnel and infrastructure work in high-traffic environments while minimizing disruption and maintaining safety.
