Pipe Superintendent

Westwood Curtis – Full-Time, In-Person in Jackson, Wyoming

Compensation: $90,000–$125,000/year, based on experience

Westwood Curtis is seeking a Pipe Superintendent to run a large water and sewer mainline project with one to two crews under your direction. If you know how to lay pipe, run a job, and take care of your people, we want to talk.

The ideal candidate has strong field leadership experience and a deep understanding of excavation and utility construction.

Family-owned and operating in Jackson since 1980, Westwood Curtis builds the region's water, sewer, storm, and road infrastructure across Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead field operations on a large public-works pipe project, supervising one to two crews and their foremen

  • Oversee installation of water and sewer mainline from 4" to 24", including trenching, bedding, backfill, and related earthwork

  • Install ductile iron pipe and HDPE for water, and HDPE and SDR-35 for sewer

  • Manage all testing: pressure testing, mandrel/deflection testing, TV inspection, and bacteriological testing and chlorination

  • Build and run the schedule, including look-ahead planning, and keep daily reports current

  • Track quantities and material, and coordinate as-builts

  • Work with survey and layout crews, and read and check grade stakes

  • Enforce safety on the jobsite, including trench safety, confined space entry, and traffic control

  • Coordinate with owners, inspectors, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors

  • Make hiring, discipline, and termination recommendations to company management

  • Report to the Project Manager

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years as a superintendent

  • Proven hands-on experience installing DIP, HDPE, and SDR-35 on water and sewer mainlines

  • Excavation/trenching competent person certification

  • Confined space certification

  • Strong knowledge of pressure testing, deflection testing, and disinfection procedures

  • Ability to read plans and specs, manage a schedule, and keep clean daily reports

  • Experience on public-works projects (municipal, state, prevailing wage) 

Preferred

  • 5+ years of field experience as a foreman or operator

  • HDPE fusion certification

  • OSHA 30

  • Experience with GPS and grade control
